The challenge
Shift handoffs lived in chats, whiteboards, and memory. Overnight teams inherited incomplete context, and care priorities competed without a shared signal.

The approach
We shadowed night and day shifts, then designed a coordination board that ranks what needs attention now, next, and by whom — with EHR-aware status, not duplicate charting.

The build
A mobile-first app with FHIR integrations, role-aware boards, and reliability checks around connectivity dropouts. QA covered edge cases clinicians actually hit at 2 a.m.

Handoffs are structured and scannable. Overnight teams inherit a live board instead of a scavenger hunt, and supervisors see risk without interrupting bedside flow.
